“Lillian the Alien” is an experimental film exploring ideas of home and boundaries. Since Covid-19, China has forced many foreigners out of the country by refusing to renew their visas. Long before these regulations, issues of immigration have existed in many developed countries, predominately in the UK and US, where foreigners are legally referred to "alien status".

When she received her deportation notice, Lillian the alien frantically searches for the perfect man on Tinker, the most popular dating app in this city of monsters, goping to marry her way into citizenship. “Lillian the Alien” highlights modern-day dating culture, immigration topics, as well as issues relating to recent Covid regulations in China.
